Welcome to Tower Health Academic Affairs!

Pursuing academic excellence is one of the fundamental mission-based pillars of Tower Health, and is embraced by Tower Health leadership, faculty, staff, and all learners. Academic Affairs serves as a resource to ensure the highest quality and excellence of education and research programs, and accreditation compliance for the education programs in Tower Health.

Academic Affairs oversees Undergraduate Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, the Clinical Trials Office, and Library Services throughout the Tower Health system. Academic Affairs and Reading Hospital jointly provide oversight for the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences.

Academic Affairs also serves as an academic liaison between Tower Health and Drexel University College of Medicine, our main medical education partner. Academic Affairs supports the faculty appointments and promotions at Drexel University College of Medicine for Tower Health faculty. Academic Affairs also facilitates the clinical rotation experience at Tower Health hospitals for Drexel medical students.

The Academic Affairs’ Graduate Medical Education team administers and supports a large portfolio of outstanding residency and fellowship programs across Tower Health and serves as a liaison between Tower Health and all accreditation organizations in Graduate Medical Education.

The Continuing Medical Education Office serves healthcare professionals at all Tower Health entities and their surrounding communities by providing a comprehensive selection of continuing educational activities to that includes live and virtual events, as well as an extensive offering of internet-based enduring materials.  The office plays a crucial role in supporting residency and fellowship programs in their development of grand rounds, faculty development, and other academic activities.

The Clinical Trials Office supports the faculty to conduct a wide variety of clinical trials across Tower Health, and actively participates in the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network.

The Library Services Department provides information resources and services customized to the needs of healthcare professionals, residents/fellows, employees, and students across all Tower Health entities.

Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences has been educating healthcare professionals since 1889, and is recognized for outstanding academics and clinical experiences. Many of our graduates choose to stay at Tower Health hospitals after their graduation.
