Charles F. Barbera, MD, Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, has received the Lehigh Valley Business Healthcare Heroes award. Lehigh Valley Business presents this award to healthcare professionals who are making an impact on the health and safety of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
This award recognizes Dr. Barbera’s work addressing the opioid and heroin crisis as a champion of the “warm handoff” process. He is on The Hospital and Healthsystem of Pennsylvania Opioid Task Force, and recently testified before the Pennsylvania Legislative Human Services Committee on the importance of the warm handoff.
