St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children employees recently donated four large bins of gently worn scrubs to benefit an international medical nonprofit.

The collection gathered scrubs for International Medical Relief (IMF), which provides healthcare to under-served and vulnerable people in more than 25 countries across the globe. The effort was coordinated by ScrubHaven, a Philadelphia supplier of scrubs.

Any donated scrubs that are too worn for reuse are repurposed by IMF into baby blankets and delivered to developing countries to be given to participants in classes that teach the essential skills of newborn resuscitation to birth attendants, to help reduce infant mortality.
