Pottstown Hospital recently announced that James A. Cook, DNP, MBA, RN, NE-BC, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer.
In this role, Jim will be responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of nursing and patient care services. He will provide leadership by advancing Pottstown Hospital's strong vision for excellence, relationship-based care philosophy, the professional practice model, and strategic and quality plans that align with the strategic priorities of Tower Health and Pottstown Hospital. Jim will be responsible for sustaining the standards of nursing practice throughout Pottstown Hospital and its entities, ensuring that the practice environment focuses on the ANCC Magnet Model and supports excellence in practice and care delivery.
Jim joined Reading Hospital in 2014 as a Unit Director and has held several key positions, including Operations Director, Division of Emergency and Observation Services and Senior Director, Division of Emergency Services. Jim also served as Interim Emergency Department Director at Pottstown Hospital in 2022. Most recently, Jim was the Senior Director of Clinical Operations for Tower Health.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science, Nursing, from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago; his Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management in Downers Grove, IL; and his Doctor of Nursing Practice, Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago.
