Phoenixville Hospital proudly announced that Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Medical Staff President Elect, Michael Messina, MD, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review's recent list of “Emerging Leaders: provider organization leaders under 40” for being part of the next generation of healthcare leaders.
According to Becker’s, these up-and-coming leaders are quickly rising through the ranks at their organizations, focusing on development, innovation, and improved outcomes. They are determined to make their mark on the healthcare industry, and are pushing their organizations not only to survive, but also thrive. This list honors leaders who are 40 years old or younger for their commitment to optimizing healthcare.
“On behalf of the Tower Health team, I congratulate Dr. Messina on this prestigious and well-deserved honor,” said Rich Newell, President and CEO of Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital. “Dr. Messina quickly became a well-respected member of the medical staff at Phoenixville Hospital and a leader among his colleagues. I thank him for all he does for our patients, our community, and our team members.”
Dr. Messina joined Phoenixville Hospital in 2016 and became the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery in 2020. He will assume the position of Medical Staff President at the annual Medical Staff meeting this spring.
