Phoenixville Hospital's inpatient Rehabilitation Center has been ranked in the top 10 percent of 870 inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) in the IRF database of Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) in 2017, achieving that recognition for the second year in a row. The inpatient Rehabilitation Center was recognized as a high-performing facility for its delivery of quality patient care that is effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered.
"This is a prestigious honor for our Regional Rehab Center," said Phoenixville Hospital CEO Steve Tullman. "Making it to the top 10 percent of all rehabilitation centers is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of our employees."
An experienced team of compassionate physicians; nurses; and physical, occupational, and speech therapists deserve credit, said Holly Younker, director of Phoenixville Hospital Rehabilitation Services and Rehabilitation Center.
"Our team is committed to providing each patient with exceptional, personalized rehabilitative care," said Younker. "We focus on getting our patients back to their best quality of life following an injury or illness."
The data used for this report was based on 12 months of 2017 data, drawn from both Medicare and non-Medicare patients.
The report card on high-performing facilities is based on best practices in inpatient rehabilitation facilities, as determined from the nation's largest database of rehabilitation outcomes, developed by UDSMR, a division of UB Foundation Activities Inc., a not-for-profit corporation affiliated with the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, and its medical rehabilitation database is used by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).
