Pottstown Hospital is proud to announce a new partnership with the Women’s Center of Montgomery County. This collaboration is designed to enhance the resources and services available to our patients, particularly those experiencing domestic violence and other types of abuse. A Medical Advocate from the Women’s Center will now be onsite two days per week to provide immediate support and services to patients, as well as continued education and warm handoff resources for Pottstown Hospital employees.

The Medical Advocate will be available to speak confidentially with any patient who may be experiencing or have disclosed domestic, partner, or elder abuse. In addition, the Medical Advocate can assist patients with completing a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order at the bedside if necessary. Outside of the onsite hours, the Women’s Center is located across the street from the hospital, and staff are available to assist as needed.

“Our collaboration with Pottstown Hospital enables us to extend our reach and impact, providing critical support and resources to individuals at a time when they need it most. Being onsite at the Hospital, allows for a warm handoff directly into support services. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by abuse,” said Kathy Rusch, Director of Primary Prevention and Community Education at the Women’s Center of Montgomery County.

The partnership highlights Pottstown Hospital’s continued commitment to stopping abuse in the community, and ensuring patients and staff have immediate access to specialized support. Through this collaboration, the two organizations will work closely to provide a seamless continuum of care, integrating services with the specialized expertise and support systems that the Women's Center offers.

“By joining forces with the Women's Center, we are taking an active stance against abuse in our community and strengthening the support network available to our patients,” said Casey Fenoglio, Director of Community Engagement at Pottstown Hospital. “This partnership ensures that those affected by abuse have access to the comprehensive care and specialized support they deserve.”
