Reading Hospital has appointed Olubunmi Ojikutu, MD, as Chair, Department of Pediatrics, effective January 1, 2020. In this role, Dr. Ojikutu will be responsible for the supervision and administration needed to assure delivery of high-quality care to patients from birth to 18 years old. She will also contribute to developing strategic plans for growth and expansion of services, mentoring providers and residents, and collaborating with other clinical departments to ensure consistency of practice throughout Tower Health.

Dr. Ojikutu has practiced as a pediatrician at Reading Hospital since 2005. She currently serves as Chair of the Pediatric Quality Committee and has led many initiatives to improve clinical care across the care continuum. She led a team that achieved Joint Commission disease-specific certification in Pediatric Asthma with Commendation in less than a year. Each year, Dr. Ojikutu provides care during clinical mission work locally and internationally, improving health care, education for girls and young women.

Dr. Ojikutu is board-certified in Pediatrics and received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. She is also fluent in Yoruba, a language spoken throughout Nigeria, West Africa.

Dr. Ojikutu lives in Berks County with her husband and two children.
