Julie Schlappich, MSN, RN

Julie Schlappich, MSN, RN, has been named Vice President, Perioperative and Procedural Services, Reading Hospital, effective May 15, 2022. In this new role, Mrs. Schlappich will continue to provide administrative and operational leadership for the Operating Suites, PACU, Sterile Processing, Perfusion Services, Neuro Monitoring, Pre-Admission Testing, Endoscopy, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology, and hospital-based Advanced Practice Providers.

Mrs. Schlappich is a Berks County native, graduating from Hamburg High School and Alvernia University. She is also a graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on Healthcare Administration from Cedar Crest College. She began her career at Reading Hospital as a Neonatal ICU Nurse, before moving to Interventional Radiology. She later became an Operating Room Nurse and then Nurse Manager. Since 2016, Mrs. Schlappich has been the Senior Director of Perioperative Services.
 
Mrs. Schlappich was crucial in the design, operation, and function of the Reading HealthPlex, working closely with physician and administrative leadership to ensure that Berks County has the most advanced processes and facilities to deliver surgical patient care.
