Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing is sponsoring the National Amputee Golf Association's "First Swing/Learn to Golf" Clinic, led by Vice President Adam Benza of the Eastern Amputee Golf Association. Adam will demonstrate some adaptive golf equipment before leading the group onto the course to practice hitting golf balls. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sittler Golf Center located at 497 Mountain Home Road in Sinking Spring. This program is free for up to 60 participants with disability and their family members.
Adam Benza is a below knee amputee who lost his right leg at the age of nine due to cancer. Adam developed a passion for golf while playing a variety of sports throughout his youth. "The goal of our team is to provide the resources our patients need to return to the activities they enjoy, or are interested in learning, to help them continue to live a healthy, active lifestyle," said Kelley Crozier, MD, Chair, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
