Susan Looney, J.D., Ed.D, has been appointed as the Vice Chair of the Reading Hospital Board of Trustees effective July 23. The Reading Hospital Board of Trustees is composed of dedicated volunteers who provide community oversight to Reading Hospital as it fulfills its mission to provide high-quality, cost-effective healthcare for the communities it serves.

"I am pleased that Dr. Looney has been named Vice Chair of the Reading Hospital Board of Trustees," said William M. Jennings, Reading Hospital President and CEO. "It has been a pleasure to work with her over the last year and I know she will continue to help the hospital and community thrive in this important role."

Dr. Looney joined the Board of Trustees in June 2019. She currently serves as President at Reading Area Community College. In her 22 years as a full-time community college educator, Dr. Looney has worked in diverse roles including: professor, assistant to the campus director and director of corporate and community programs at Delaware Technical Community College, and interim assistant vice president of academic affairs, arts and sciences at Colorado Mountain College. Dr. Looney was named dean of instruction at Reading Area Community College in 2014 and named senior vice president of academic affairs/provost at RACC in 2015. After completing her AA at Brookdale Community College, Dr. Looney went on to earn her BS and MBA in business administration from Monmouth University, JD from Widener University School of Law, and ultimately an Ed.D. in higher education leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
