You want your child to have a happy, fulfilling life — with family, friends, and classmates. We provide expert guidance and support to make sure they do. Our comprehensive evaluations discover your child’s needs and let us develop a personalized care plan. We work together with parents, schools, care providers, and others to ensure your child has support and assistance to grow and flourish.
Empowering children and families.
As a pediatric academic medical center, we have extensive experience caring for children with even the most advanced developmental needs — from autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to learning problems, genetic conditions, and more. That means you get the latest approaches in testing and treatment.
We take the time to learn about your child and family and support their educational, social, and emotional needs. We educate you about your child’s condition and connect you with resources and support that can help.
You’re not alone — together, we advocate for your child. You have dedicated experts by your side to help.
Comprehensive Developmental Pediatrics Care
We offer complete evaluations and personalized recommendations for children with conditions that affect their development, including:
- ADHD
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Developmental delays (different thinking, movement or social interaction skills as others the same age)
- Genetic disorders, including Down syndrome
- Learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, and processing difficulties)
- Neuromuscular disorders, including cerebral palsy and spina bifida
Our child development team works with children of all ages, from infants to teens. We provide:
- Comprehensive evaluations. We explore every area of your child's life — medical history, physical health, nutrition, sleep, growth, and social behaviors at home and school.
- Neonatal assessment. Our team follows up with premature newborns for two years. This allows us to find developmental problems early, and kids get expert attention right away.
- Developmental testing. We look for conditions like autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, and anxiety. We assess speech and language, social, and motor skills. We may recommend other testing, such as genetic tests, IQ tests, or an evaluation by a school psychologist.
- School advocacy and support. We make sure your child gets the support they need to learn and interact well with their classmates. We teach you how to advocate for your child, connect you with school district advocates, and step in to help whenever you need us.
- Ongoing assistance. You and your child see us for follow-up visits to check your child's progress and make sure they are on track. We adjust your child’s care plan along the way as their needs change.
- Transition to adult services. When your child reaches adulthood, we help them find adult providers and services for a smooth transition. We work side by side with you until your child is 21 — no other hospital offers this extended support.
