Pain management providers know that every patient’s needs are different. There is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach here, and we pride ourselves on personalizing a treatment plan for each individual to relieve pain, improve function and restore quality of life.
Our providers are interventionally trained and specialize in utilizing non-pharmacologic treatments in treating a variety of pain conditions. These include, but are not limited to, both acute and chronic disorders of the neck and back such as arthritis or herniated discs, peripheral neuropathies, complex regional pain syndrome, compression fractures, myofascial pain syndromes, post stroke pain, post herpetic neuralgia, and chronic pain after surgery.
While we believe that opioids have their place in treating chronic complex pain pathology, we typically consider them to be a “last resort” and do everything we can utilizing both non-pharmacologic and non-opioid pharmacologic treatments first.
From an interventional standpoint, our services include the following:
- Epidural steroid injections
- Radiofrequency ablations (burning of specific nerves)
- Sympathetic nerve blocks
- Joint injections
- Peripheral nerve blocks and ablations
- Spinal cord stimulation
- Peripheral nerve stimulation
- Trigger point injections
- Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty and cryoablation of nerves for cancer related pain
Non-opioid pharmacologic options include:
- Ketamine infusions
- Neuropathic agents
- Topical creams and ointments
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents
- Antidepressants
- Muscle relaxants
We also work closely with excellent physical therapists to optimize one’s own body’s recovery if possible without the need for invasive medical procedures.
We utilize opioids only in conjunction with a patient’s referring provider or primary care provider.
