All four Tower Health hospitals received statewide recognition for their efforts to support and raise awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation through The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s (HAP) 2024 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge.
The annual campaign encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ, eye, and tissue donation awareness within their hospitals and communities. HAP partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the two organ procurement organizations serving Pennsylvania - the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) and the Gift of Life Donor Program - to support the challenge. Tower Health hospitals participated along with 118 hospitals statewide in this year’s challenge.

“Tower Health continuously seeks to educate our teams and community members about the impact of organ donation,” said P. Sue Perrotty, CEO of Tower Health. “I’m proud of the ongoing effort we put forth regarding this issue and am honored to be a part of a team that prioritizes organ donation.”
Throughout the campaign, Tower Health hospitals took the opportunity to recognize the importance organ donors have and the lives saved and healed through their contributions. They worked to support donations through training, informational meetings, campaigns, community events, social media posts, and internal communications. Events like these are the key to educating and encouraging more people to register.
“HAP commends Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners for their terrific work to support and raise awareness about organ donation,” HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings said. “The level of participation in the challenge demonstrates the commitment and dedication hospital teams have to the health of their communities. Increasing the number of organ, eye, and tissue donors is critical to helping hospital teams save and improve lives.”
