Tower Health provides excellent cancer care across all locations. We are now aligning this care even more closely. Starting in November, Phoenixville Hospital Cancer Center and Pottstown Hospital Cancer Center will become McGlinn Cancer Institute at Phoenixville Hospital and McGlinn Cancer Institute at Pottstown Hospital.

McGlinn Cancer Institute is Tower Health Network's renowned clinical and research facility based at Reading Hospital, nationally recognized for its leading-edge treatment options. This strategic alignment will jointly leverage the success of all three accredited programs, connecting cancer care throughout Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties.

“By tapping into our collaborative strength across the entire health system, we can provide support for patients throughout their entire cancer journey – from screening and diagnosis to surgery, treatment, and survivorship,” said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health president and CEO. “Our staff will share surgical expertise, best practices, and multidisciplinary clinical pathways system-wide to provide our patients with a complete care continuum, ensuring the highest standard of care no matter where they live in our communities.”

The McGlinn Cancer Institute can provide patients with the highest level of cancer care without having to travel far from home by aligning clinical pathways and best practices across Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, and Reading Hospital. The three hospitals are accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Radiation Oncology, which requires providers to meet the most stringent clinical guidelines.

With cancer specialists close to home, McGlinn Cancer Institute offers:

  • A customized treatment plan based on each patient's individual needs.
  • Targeted cancer treatments and immunotherapies to optimize healing.
  • Access to the latest clinical trials.
  • The most advanced radiation therapies, including Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.
  • Minimally invasive surgery for faster recovery.
  • Expertise in complex surgeries.

“We are proud of the high-quality cancer care delivered at each of our hospitals,” said Rich Newell, president and CEO at Phoenixville and Pottstown Hospitals. “By aligning our teams and resources, we are ensuring that everyone has access to our dedicated team members who can work together to coordinate care, and provide the best possible outcome for each patient.”
