H. Christopher Lawson, MD, Division Chief, Neurological Surgery

Reading Hospital is excited to announce that H. Christopher Lawson, MD, has been promoted to the role of Division Chief, Neurological Surgery effective October 5.

Dr. Lawson has been with Reading Hospital since 2014. The role involves leading both physicians and APPs in the Division of Neurological Surgery. This team specializes in treating a variety of complex conditions such as Parkinson's disease, neurovascular disease, spine disease, epilepsy, stroke, trauma, and cancer.

In 1991 Dr. Lawson began his career in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1995 with University and Department Honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in both Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. In 2000, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he completed his neurosurgical residency in June 2007.

After completing his training, he worked at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Baltimore Neurosurgery and Spine Center before transitioning to Reading Hospital in 2014. Dr. Lawson is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Lawson has been awarded the American Parkinson Disease Association post-doctoral fellowship and the Harvey Cushing Medical Student Hunterian Research Award from the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, among countless other recognitions.
