The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a quality program administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), has re-accredited Breast Health Center - Phoenixville. To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center must demonstrate compliance with the NAPBC standards that address leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement for patients. Breast centers seeking NAPBC accreditation undergo site visits every three years. This is Phoenixville Hospital's third re-accreditation.

As an NAPBC-accredited center, the Breast Health Center - Phoenixville is committed to maintaining high levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered, multidisciplinary care resulting in high-quality treatment for breast disease patients. Patients can be confident that their breast care team includes healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines. These professionals are committed to working together to provide the most comprehensive care available throughout the entire course of their treatment. Patients receiving care at an NAPBC-accredited center also have access to information on clinical trials, advanced treatment options, genetic counseling, and patient-centered services including psychosocial support, rehabilitation services, and survivorship care.

“Achieving NAPBC re-accreditation for a third time is a remarkable accomplishment,” states Rich Newell, CEO of Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital. “Our team is focused on providing the highest-quality care for our patients navigating a breast disease diagnosis in a supportive and comfortable setting. This accreditation for the Breast Health Center - Phoenixville demonstrates their ongoing commitment.”

Accreditation by the NAPBC is granted only to those programs that are committed to providing the best possible care to patients with breast cancer. The NAPBC provides the structure and resources to develop and operate a high-quality breast center and accredited program.

Patients receiving care at this NAPBC-accredited center have access to:

  • Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
  • A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and advanced treatment options

“The Breast Health Center – Phoenixville is committed to maintaining excellence and being a leader in breast cancer care,” said Dr. Bruce Weiner, Medical Director, Breast Health Center – Phoenixville. “There are many benefits for patients to receive treatment by a nationally accredited breast center, which includes a multidisciplinary team approach, the latest and most advanced treatment options, and access to genetic testing all close to home.”
