For the second consecutive year, Becker's Hospital Review 2024 has listed Reading Hospital as one of the “Great Hospitals in America.” The hospital was honored for its top-tier clinical work, commitment to patient safety, innovative advancements, in-depth research, educational excellence, and high levels of patient satisfaction.
“Our Reading Hospital team always strives to be among the best in the nation, and these recognitions are another reason to celebrate their tremendous success,” said Charles F. Barbera, MD, Reading Hospital President and CEO. “It is also a great reminder of our outstanding clinical quality, patient experience, employee engagement, and community health programs. I’m incredibly proud.”
For this award, Becker's Hospital Review list honors hospitals annually for their dedication to optimizing healthcare. The publication’s editorial team reviews hospitals nationwide, selecting those for inclusion based on analyses of their recent achievements, rankings, and ratings such as Healthgrades awards, Newsweek recognition, and quality awards for many clinical service lines.
Reading Hospital also received the publication’s annual “Great Heart Program” award, which celebrates programs that deliver high-quality outcomes, build skilled teams of expert caregivers, make key research discoveries in heart care, and are renowned for their superior heart and vascular care. These programs significantly impact the lives of patients throughout the U.S. and beyond.
“During the past few years, our spectacular team at Miller Regional Heart Center has strived to exceed the national and state benchmarks proven to improve patient outcomes,” Earl Hope, MD, Chief, Section of Cardiology, said. “They have come up with unique programs to improve the health of their patients and reduce readmission rates. I congratulate them on this recognition.”
