Employees at Reading Hospital brought lots of love to patients this Valentine's Day, delivering 700 carnations and cards to patient rooms.

On Wednesday, February 14, the Environmental Services (EVS) team at Reading Hospital delivered 700 carnations and cards to patient rooms. The team members were very excited to reintroduce this sweet gesture, which had been temporarily paused due to COVID-19.

"It's a beautiful thing that our team gets to do," said Navneet Manik, Sr. Manager, Environmental Services. "We are grateful we can bring a smile to our patients' faces on Valentine's Day. We want them to feel welcome and loved, and to know that they are in great hands here."

The delivery of flowers and cards was a team effort. From assembly to delivery, many departments helped make this act of kindness possible.

"Thank you to the Environmental Services team for this thoughtful gesture and always thinking of our patients," said Charles F. Barbera, MD, President and CEO of Reading Hospital. "Reading Hospital has the most caring and compassionate employees you will ever meet. I love hearing about all the positive experiences and acts of kindness that happen each day at our hospital."
