On Wednesday, March 18, Tower Health Urgent Care will open a new location at 1050 East Philadelphia Avenue in Gilbertsville. The location will offer patients convenient access to advanced, comprehensive care 365 days a year from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Walk-in care will be available at the new urgent care location for a variety of conditions, including colds, flu, allergies, asthma, sore throat, sports injuries, minor lacerations, sprains, earaches and ear infections, and preventive services such as physicals, and occupational health.

"At Tower Health we are committed to providing the right level of care in the right place, at the right time," said Clint Matthews, President and CEO, Tower Health. "Urgent Care is an essential link in our continuum of care that connects patients to a physician if they do not have a primary care doctor or their doctor is not available."

To provide truly integrated care, physicians and other providers at Tower Health Urgent Care at Gilbertsville will use Epic, the electronic medical record in use across Tower Health. Epic brings patient health information from Tower Health care sites into one health record, leading to more informed clinical decisions, improved outcomes, and seamlessly coordinated care.

"The Gilbertsville community was strategically selected for a new urgent care location because of the rapid development in the area," said Charles F. Barbera, MD, Vice President, Pre-Hospital and Unscheduled Care. "We look forward to providing the community access to our growing team of highly skilled physicians, advanced practice providers, and team members."
