TowerDIRECT, Tower Health’s non-profit ambulance company, will visit the Child Development Center at Reading Hospital on Wednesday, May 24, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., to host a teddy bear clinic for students. The preschool-aged children will have the opportunity to bring a toy from home to receive a “check-up” from a member of the TowerDIRECT team. The children will also explore the ambulance and learn about the equipment onboard.
The Teddy Bear Clinic is part of Tower Health’s recognition of National EMS Week, which honors all EMS Professionals for their excellence and dedication to patients and communities. This year, the 49th annual EMS Week occurs May 21 – 27. The Wednesday of EMS Week is “Emergency Medical Services for Children Day.”

The parents or guardians of all our students work within the Tower Health system, so this event provides the children with a hands-on learning experience with their family’s colleagues. It also provides an important opportunity to educate the children that EMS professionals are trusted helpers in our community when there is an emergency.”
