Nurses make an impact on patients every day through the excellent, compassionate care they provide in hospitals, outpatient clinics, physician practices, patients’ homes, and throughout the community.
You can always find a nurse by the side of a patient, family member, or neighbor in need. Nurses touch lives and improve patient outcomes with their skills and training. They make an even greater impact by seeing and serving the full humanity of those who rely on them for care, comfort, and guidance.
“While we recognize the extraordinary work our nurses do each day, it is especially important to recognize their efforts during Nurses Week,” said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health President and CEO. “We are truly blessed to have so many kind and caring individuals who have chosen to share their gifts with our health system and the individuals in our communities. I thank them for all they do.”
Barbara Romig, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer for Tower Health and Reading Hospital, added, “This year’s national theme ‘Nurses Make a Difference’ is fitting because our team of nurses truly does make a difference in the lives of patients and families. Each of our hospitals participate in the DAISY Award program to celebrate the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by our nurses every day. I encourage individuals to nominate a nurse who has made a difference in their life or the life of their family or friend. It is an honor for a member of our team to receive this recognition and it's another way we can celebrate our nurses all year long.”
