The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is proud to be a DAISY Award Partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor eight times a year. DAISY Award Nomination Criteria
Any registered nurse who has been employed by St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and currently functions in a clinical setting is eligible to be nominated for a DAISY Award. The nurse must exemplify at least one of the following criteria:
- Provided patient- and family-centered care with a focus on the patient’s best interest at the center of all actions.
- Established a special connection with patients and/or families through compassionate care with trust and emotional support.
- Demonstrated professionalism and clear communication in the work environment with patients, family, and/or interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical and critical thinking skills with the highest standards of professional nursing practice.
