If you’re not ready to take care of a newborn and don’t have anyone to ask for help, there’s a place where you can take your baby and ensure its safety and health: a Safe Haven.
If you are not able to care for your baby, all you have to do is bring your newborn (up to 28 days old) to any Pennsylvania hospital, a police officer at a police station, or an emergency services provider at an EMS station, and drop it off. That’s all. As long as the baby is unharmed and not a victim of any crime, you will not be in any trouble.
At Phoenixville Hospital, you may give the infant to any staff member.
No one will ask you any questions, no one will judge you, and no one will say a word about your baby. In fact, you don’t even have to give your name or address.
You can provide medical information for the baby. But you don’t have to answer any questions. The baby will be checked by a doctor and given medical care. The local children and youth agency will then find a family to take in and care for the baby.
