August 20, 2021 - On Monday, August 2, The Friends of Reading Hospital (The Friends) hosted 84 golfers at the Annual Tower Golf Classic at the Berkshire Country Club in Reading. Proceeds from the event went towards The Friends's $100,000 commitment to a fundraising project in cooperation with the Reading Hospital Foundation to purchase a Reading Hospital Mobile Mammography Coach. 

August 17, 2021 - Tower Health announced today that it will require COVID-19 vaccination for all Tower Health employees when the FDA gives the vaccine full approval—a milestone anticipated within the coming weeks.

August 16, 2021 - Reading Hospital - Tower Health is participating in the “Safe Families for Children™” (SFFC) program. The program helps remove barriers so expectant and new mothers can attend important medical appointments during pregnancy and the postpartum period, offers early intervention services, and provides child abuse prevention.

August 12, 2021 - Reading Hospital will host an Open Air Job Fair on Saturday, August 14 from 9 a.m. to noon, outside, at the 6th Avenue (Clock Tower) Entrance on the hospitals main campus in West Reading. The event will be held rain or shine.

August 4, 2021 - As the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to spread across the country and the region, Tower Health reminds the community on the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

July 30, 2021 - After several months of careful exploration and due diligence, Tower Health’s Board of Directors has decided that the system can best chart its path forward by developing a strategic alliance with Penn Medicine.

July 27, 2021 - Reading Hospital - Tower Health has been recognized as a Best Hospital for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital was ranked eighth in Pennsylvania and recognized in Northeastern PA/Lehigh Valley. Reading Hospital was also nationally ranked #50 in pulmonology and lung surgery and high performing in gastroenterology & GI Surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics, and urology.

July 22, 2021 - The Friends of Reading Hospital announced that the Reading Hospital Road Run event on Sunday, October 17 will return as an In-Person Event this year. The 2021 event will consist of a Half Marathon, 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, and the “Go-the-Distance” challenge.

July 19, 2021 - Reading Hospital - Tower Health has been recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®) for excellence in lactation care.

July 12, 2021 - Reading Hospital announced that at midnight on July 12, 2021 (when a daily census is counted), it had ZERO COVID-19 inpatients for the first time in 17 months. To date, Reading Hospital has treated 3,225 COVID-19 inpatients.
