Overview
We are accepting applications for our 2024 Summer Junior Volunteer Program from November 17, 2023, through April 17, 2024. You must be at least 16 years of age to participate and are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as the program is first come, first served.
The program is designed to help junior volunteers gain experience working in departments throughout the hospital or in our Gift Shop or Thrift Shop. Volunteering is not only a wonderful way to give back to your community, but juniors will develop valuable career skills.
Hospital volunteers have played a vital role in patient, family, and guest care for centuries, compassionately augmenting staff services. Additionally, volunteers contribute to patient satisfaction by adding a special dimension to personal care and service.
The process of becoming a volunteer, from application to actual placement in a department, can take anywhere from four to six weeks depending upon circumstances. Juniors who participate in the program will receive a letter of recommendation to be used for college applications or future job references.
