Faculty - Family Medicine Residency

Dr. Luis Murillo is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and completed his premedical studies at Franklin & Marshall College. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he also received a Master of Public Health. Most recently, he completed a Master of Business Administration at Eastern University.

Dr. Murillo’s professional interests focus on healthcare disparities, population health, and improving care delivery for underserved communities. In addition to his role as Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Dr. Murillo is Chair of the Tower Health Providers Population Health Committee; is a member of the Editorial Board for Transformative Medicine, Tower Health's academic journal; and is Director of the Hanna Center for Primary Care Research.

Committed to serving beyond the clinical setting, Dr. Murillo also serves on the Board of Directors for Hanna's Hope Ministry, a nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing and support services for mothers and their children.

Outside of work, Dr. Murillo enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and energic dog! His hobbies include music, photography, and martial arts training.

Dr. Jacqueline Storer serves as program director of the Reading Hospital Family Medicine Residency and director of osteopathic education. She is also an assistant professor of family, community, and preventive medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Storer moved to South Florida as a teenager and graduated magna cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University honors program. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Tower Health – Reading Hospital. Her experience as a resident at Reading Hospital fostered her passion for teaching, mentorship, and academic medicine, ultimately leading her to join the faculty.

Dr. Storer has held ongoing leadership roles in medical education throughout her career at Reading Hospital. Prior to becoming program director, she served as the family medicine clerkship site director for three years. During her tenure as clerkship site director, the Family Medicine Department received the Drexel University College of Medicine Award for Outstanding Department, an honor selected by medical students in recognition of the department’s excellence in education.

Dr. Storer has a particular interest in innovative approaches to medical education and has developed curricula in osteopathic medicine, point-of-care ultrasound, obesity medicine, and women’s health. She completed the Society of Point-of-Care Ultrasound Train-the-Trainer certification and established the program’s primary care POCUS curriculum. As director of osteopathic education, she oversees the osteopathic curriculum for residents and medical students and serves as the primary preceptor for the residency’s weekly Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine clinic. Her commitment to advancing osteopathic family medicine extends beyond her institution. As an item writer for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, she contributes to the development of national board examination content used to assess the knowledge and clinical expertise of osteopathic family physicians.

Clinically, Dr. Storer embraces the full scope of family medicine. She frequently serves as an inpatient rounding attending and has received the Reading Hospital Medical Staff Certificate of Excellence Award. In the outpatient setting, she precepts residents and medical students at the Family Health Care Center and maintains her own continuity patient panel. Her professional interests include obesity medicine, pediatrics, and preventive care. She is an active member of the hospital’s GMEC and ethics committees. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Storer is committed to mentorship and to cultivating the next generation of family physicians and physician leaders. She is particularly passionate about preserving the comprehensive scope of family medicine while embracing innovation in medical education and clinical practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Storer is a PADI-certified scuba diver and enjoys spending time with her family and her rescue dog.

Dr. Nipa Doshi is a graduate of Loyola College and Hahnemann University School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training at Lancaster General Hospital. Following completion of a Faculty Development Fellowship at Lancaster General Hospital, she joined the Family Medicine Residency Program at Drexel University’s Warminster Hospital, serving as Associate Program Director and then Interim Program Director. Dr. Doshi joined Reading Hospital's Family Medicine Residency Program in 2007. She coordinates the curriculum, in addition to teaching residents and medical students in the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Dr. Doshi is an Associate Professor of Family, Community, and Preventative Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She is also the Medical Director of the Western Berks Free Medical Clinic.

Dr. Cassiopeia Roychowdhury is a dedicated family medicine physician committed to providing compassionate care to patients of all ages. She earned her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and completed her residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA, where she honed her skills in preventive care, chronic disease management, acute illness treatment, and outpatient procedures. Her approach emphasizes open communication and collaboration; she believes in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

She serves as the Medical Director for the Family Health Care Center, which involves oversight of clinical operations, performance improvement, strategic planning, and policy development. As part of this role, she leads the Patient Advisory Council and directs the Health Systems Management resident course. She has also enjoyed nurturing resident education as a faculty advisor and watching each resident physician blossom into the best version of themselves. She is excited for the role of Associate Program Director, with its increased involvement in curriculum planning, professional development, and community outreach.

When she is not in the office, you can find her playing with her babies (humans and puppies alike), exploring local eateries with friends, and traveling the globe. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Dr. Amy Girard was the director of the Tower Behavior Health DBT program, Behavioral Medicine Chronic Pain Management Program, and MBSR programs for 17 years. She attended Christian Theological Seminary School M-Div, received her MS in Psychology at Indiana State University, and received her PsyD in Health Psychology at Indiana State University. Dr. Girard is currently on the Behavioral Medicine Faculty in the Reading Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Girard also has a great interest in research and currently sits on the Tower Health IRB where she has served for 15 years.

Her clinical interests include whole-person health and wellness, the use of mindfulness and evidence-based treatment of medical disorders, the intersection of wellness and spirituality, and enhancing wellness in general. Dr. Girard’s areas of expertise include treatment of personality disorders, treatment of chronic pain, treatment of eating disorders, and behavioral medicine. When she is not here at the hospital she enjoys traveling, playing piano, hiking, kayaking, and attending sporting events with her husband and children.

Dr. Cabello earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Franklin and Marshall College. He earned his Doctorate of Allopathic Medicine from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Dr. Cabello knew he always wanted to become a Family Medicine physician even prior to medical school because of the broad-spectrum nature of the field. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Reading Hospital where he served as co-chief resident in his final year and in this role, he developed an interest in academic medicine. His professional interests include Inpatient Hospital Medicine, Outpatient Medicine, Global Health, Sports Medicine, Medical Spanish, and care of underserved populations. On a personal note, he likes to travel with his wife, spend time with family and he is a soccer aficionado. 

Driven by a passion for service and learning, Dr. Thomas combines a unique blend of experiences. Holding a B.A. from Oswego State University, Oswego, NY, M.Ed. from Albany State University in GA, M.D. from American International School of Medicine, Georgetown, GY, additionally is also a certified EMT. Dr. Thomas' professional journey includes a residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional in Columbus, GA.

Dr. Thomas' career in medical education spans over two decades, marked by a breadth of experience across multiple capacities. This includes expertise in NIH, RWJ and NASA grant management, leadership in developing STEM programs within the University System of Georgia's HBCUs, teaching, lecturing and direct clinical practice as a Child and Adolescent Therapist.  Her multifaceted background underscores a deep commitment to education, research, and the holistic development of youth.

Dr. Thomas is currently dedicated to shaping the next generation of "great doctors" by training residents and medical students in inpatient medicine and clinical application. Having worked with over 15,000 students and mentored many, she demonstrates a strong commitment to their success. Inpatient includes care of newborns, pediatrics and adult patients. Future interests include global mission work, community outreach and training. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, celebrating her Caribbean-American heritage through dance, playing sports, and spending quality time with family and friends. 

Dr. Zlotnick received his MD from the UMDNJ - NJ Medical School, completed his Family Medicine Residency at Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore, MD, and earned his CAQ certification in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Zlotnick started in solo practice in Vernon, NJ, then academic Family Medicine at Warren Hospital (Phillipsburg, NJ), and Somerset Medical Center (Somerville, NJ), and part-time faculty at Capital Health (Trenton, NJ), while also serving as the Medical Director at Patient First (Bethlehem, PA). He later retired as Residency Director of Sports Medicine Education at Penn State Health/St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency in Reading, PA, as Director of the Sports Medicine/Concussion Clinic at PSH – St. Joseph’s, and served as Team Sports Medicine Physician for Albright College, Alvernia University, and Conrad Weiser and Schuylkill Valley High Schools in Berks County, PA. Dr. Zlotnick was also involved with the Rowan Integrated Special Needs Center at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine until June 2023. 

Dr. Zlotnick serves as the Chair of the Commission on Continuing Professional Development for the PA Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Zlotnick has faculty appointments at Rutgers-NJ Medical School, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Zlotnick is a regional and nationally recognized speaker at the AAFP, NCFMR/S, PAFP, NJAFP, DAFP, and the AADMD.

Dr. Zlotnick is most proud of being the Senior Clinical Director and developer of the MedFest program - a joint initiative between Special Olympics NJ and the NJ Academy of Family Physicians. In 2016, Dr. Zlotnick was honored with election to the SONJ "Hall of Fame." The same year, he was also recognized with a Global Golisano Health Leadership Award by Special Olympics International.
