Reading’s Internal Medicine Training Program emphasizes competence in:
- Decision-making skills
- Rewarding doctor/patient relationships
- Practice improvement/patient safety skills
- Clinical inquiry/core research skills
- Reflective skills for life-long learning and satisfaction
The residency uses an x+y schedule, allowing you to be on four weeks of inpatient followed by two weeks of outpatient, without interruption to either.
Beyond the rotation experience, the program provides year-long experiential training in practice improvement, research inquiry, and personal development through a distinctive portfolio program.
There is significant flexibility in the curriculum, allowing residents to develop the specific skills critical for their future training or practice.
