The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) rotation at Tower Health offers participants an opportunity to gain a deep, actionable understanding of DEI practices within healthcare and beyond. This program is designed to support Tower Health’s ongoing DEI initiatives and to help identify areas for improvement in DEI, health equity, and community engagement. Participants will also acquire tools to assess and improve these areas, positioning themselves as future leaders in the pursuit of health equity.
Throughout the elective, you will develop the skills and knowledge to serve as a DEI champion within Tower Health and beyond, supporting or even leading efforts to create and implement DEI curricula. The program is ideal for those who are passionate about advancing health equity, addressing social determinants of health (SDOH), and fostering inclusive community engagement.

- PGY-2 and above residents and fellows
- Must be in good academic standing

Program Deliverables
As part of the elective, you will engage in a range of impactful activities and deliverables, including:
- Development of an educational curriculum on DEI
- Creation and delivery of a presentation on the "Let's Talk" initiative
- Contribution to a conference poster and potential publication
- Participation in community fairs and health equity initiatives
- Engagement in SDOH (Social Determinants of Health) screenings to enhance community outreach and care
Evaluation
A formal evaluation will be provided at the end of the elective rotation. The evaluation will be entered into New Innovations for tracking and feedback.
