Program Overview 

The Tower Health Internal Medicine Residency program with Phoenixville Hospital as its sponsoring institution was successfully launched in July 2023.

The residency program was thrilled to recruit a fantastic class of residents with diverse backgrounds. Together with an enthusiastic and eager-to-teach faculty, they are working diligently to achieve the aim of cultivating well-rounded Internal Medicine physicians.

Now, upon welcoming this first group of residents with open arms, Phoenixville Hospital has officially transitioned into an educational hospital.

Phoenixville Hospital's Internal Medicine Residency program will endeavor to provide compassionate, accessible, high-quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective healthcare to the community.

As the program promotes health, education of healthcare professionals, and research participation, it is dedicated to establishing a robust training program that prepares ethical, high-quality physicians that further enhance community healthcare.

As part of the educational program, resident well-being will be maintained and upheld to the highest standards, fostering skilled, well-rounded physicians ready for autonomous practice after graduation from the Internal Medicine Program.

Aims & Objectives

  • To provide residents with a means to develop into outstanding clinical internists, who are well-rounded with diverse skills and capable of working in multiple environments, including private practice and academic medicine. 
  • The program aims to emphasize underserved, diverse, and lower socioeconomic populations.
  • By providing compassionate, accessible, high-quality, safe, equitable, and affordable healthcare and promoting health in the communities that they serve, Internal Medicine residents will serve as role models of excellence, compassion, respect for human dignity, and professionalism.
