Arif M Jan, MD
Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program , Vice Chair, Department of MedicineDr. Jan is a graduate of the University of Kashmir and Drexel University’s Categorical Medicine Residency with prior training in United Kingdom. After completing residency, he started as an Academic Faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine and was the Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Program Director of the program before he joined Phoenixville Hospital. He is engaged full time as a faculty member specializing in inpatient teaching.
Joelle R Lauchner, DO
Ambulatory DirectorDr. Joelle Lauchner has a been working for Tower Health since the start of her residency at Reading Hospital in 2015. She served as the chief resident and went on to start a new practice with a colleague in Douglassville. Dr. Lauchner is passionate about preventative care, pain management, addiction medicine, obesity management, and informatics. She is actively involved in volunteer work in the community and has served on several non-profit boards. Dr. Lauchner is married with two children and enjoys spending time with her family hiking, kayaking and traveling.
Slawomir L Kusmirek, MD
Teaching Faculty , Chief, Division of CardiologyDr. Kusmirek is board certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology. He is the Regional Director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology services for Tower Health. Dr. Kusmirek provides comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular diseases with emphasis on care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. His expertise includes treating patients with complex heart rhythm problems who require corrective ablation procedures. He has special interest and experience in atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablation. He implants left atrial appendage occlusion devices for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation. Additionally, he specializes in implanting pacemakers, including leadless pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization devices to treat heart failure. Dr. Kusmirek was recognized as a Philadelphia Magazine Top Doctor in 2018 and 2019.
Amit H Gangoli, MD
Teaching FacultyDr. Amit Gangoli is a Board Certified Infectious Disease Specialist and founder of Eastern Pennsylvania Infectious Diseases Associates, LLC. He has been in private practice in Chester and Montgomery Counties since 2012. Dr. Gangoli did his fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and has extensive experience in complex infectious disease problems including HIV, transplant infections, bone and joint infections, and emerging pathogens. As an Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Gangoli diagnoses and treats infections caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi. He treats a wide range of conditions such as the flu and Lyme Disease to more serious infections such as Hepatitis, HIV, AIDS, MRSA, tuberculosis, and meningitis. He is Chairman of multiple hospital infection control committees and helped plan emergency preparedness for emerging infections like swine flu and bird flu as well as potential bio-terrorism threats. He was a leading voice and expert during the COVID-19 pandemic and participated in many Town Hall meetings with local leaders. In addition, Dr. Gangoli continues to give talks in the community to other health care providers to raise awareness of current issues such as MRSA, Lyme Disease, and infection control and regularly teaches medical residents while rounding during the week. Dr. Gangoli and his team of highly trained nurse practitioners work in conjunction with primary care physicians and other specialists at Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital to provide caring and expert care for their valued patients and members of the community.
Edward T Hovick, MD
Teaching Faculty, Chief, Section of Nephrology Board of Trustees MemberDr. Hovick is a board-certified Nephrologist with comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease. He earned his Medical Degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and successfully completed a residency at the Mercy Catholic Medical Center of Darby and a fellowship in nephrology at the Lankenau Medical Center.
